Tennessee Football remaining transfer targets; Joe Milton III; Georgia exodus; CFB calendar

While Tennessee Football still continues bowl practice, the early signing period begins in one day. Caleb Calhoun and Dave Hooker discuss the Vols on the trail for transfers and this college football calendar on Off the Hook Sports’ Tuesday, Dec. 19 podcast. John Adams joins to discuss the Georgia Bulldogs, Joe Milton III, Josh Heupel and the bowl game.

Joe Milton III compared to past Tennessee Football QBs

After an 8-4 senior season, is Joe Milton III the most hated quarterback in Tennessee Football history? If not, who would hold that title among those who started for at least a year? Would Jonathan Crompton, Tyler Bray or Jarrett Guarantano be on that list? What about anybody else from the Phillip Fulmer years?

Most inspirational player for bowl

Given the fact that Milton is practicing with the team, it’s not likely that Nico Iamaleava starts for Tennessee Football in the Citrus Bowl against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Without him, who would be the most inspirational player to start for the Vols in their final game of the 2023 season? Could anybody provide them with a spark?

Josh Heupel to Chargers?

The Los Angeles Chargers have an opening for a head coach and a quarterback with a ton of potential in Justin Herbert. Should Tennessee Football head coach Josh Heupel consider it if he receives an offer? Is there a chance that any NFL team would offer Heupel given his offense despite an 8-4 season?

Georgia mass exodus

With the transfer portal still raging, the Georgia Bulldogs have suffered a mass exodus of players, including their five-star quarterback flipping to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. However, Carson Beck is back, and Kirby Smart’s team is loaded, so is this really anything for the program to worry about?

Remaining transfer targets for Tennessee Football

Coming off a big weekend of transfer pickups, Tennessee Football isn’t done in the portal. The Vols could still be targeting highly touted Texas A&M Aggies transfer defensive lineman Walter Nolen. Florida Gators transfer offensive lineman Jalen Farmer had a successful visit to Rocky Top, and UT is the favorite to land Oregon State Beavers transfer defensive back Jermod McCoy.

Calendar for college football

In addition to the Early Signing Period beginning Wednesday, Dec. 20, the transfer portal remains open. At the same time, the coaching carousel and college football postseason are underway, and this time next year, the first round of CFB Playoff games will have been played. When will this calendar be fixed?
